I can't help but think Netero is stupid for his decision making here, Meruem gave you 3 chances already but you chose your job and pre-conceived idea of what chimera ants are

I think he made that decision since he thought the probability of the bad outcome would be higher as Netero said Ant and Human is incompatible. I also think aside from sudden change of the king there are also some aspects that the king would possible kill a lot of humans in the process for changing the world; Also Netero does not want the king to selects people who are worthy to live Netero wanted fair to all. The King is like playing God. This is just opinion. :>
